Constructure
A single-sided PCB is mainly composed of the following parts:
Substrate:
The substrate provides both structural support and electrical insulation for the PCB. It is usually made from insulating materials such as FR-4 (a type of fiberglass), although other materials can also be used depending on the application.
Conductive Layer:
On one side of the PCB, a thin layer of copper foil is applied. This copper layer is etched into a specific pattern to form the conductive paths (traces) for electrical connections. The copper foil allows for the wiring and connection of components, such as resistors, capacitors, and ICs, which complete the circuit.
Cover Film:
The cover film, typically made from an insulating material such as polyimide (PI), serves as a protective layer. Its main function is to shield the copper foil from oxidation and other environmental factors that could damage the conductive material. It also prevents short circuits caused by the exposure of copper to moisture or air.
Application

· Simple Electronic Devices:
Single-sided PCBs are ideal for basic, low-cost electronics where the design and circuit complexity are minimal. Examples include remote controls, electronic toys, and meters. These applications benefit from the simplicity of design and the lower manufacturing costs of single-sided boards.

Single-sided PCBs are commonly used in consumer electronics such as radios, televisions, and other devices where a simple circuit design is sufficient for core functions. They are typically used in the assembly of main components, especially in devices that do not require complex interconnections or multi-layer designs.
· Communication Devices:
In communication devices, such as mobile phone camera modules, single-sided boards are often used to handle simple circuit connections. They are particularly useful in devices where space and cost efficiency are critical, but high-performance circuitry is not required.

The shelf life of vacuum-packaged circuit boards varies depending on the surface treatment process, typically ranging from 3 to 12 months. The details are as follows:

ENIG (Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold):
Can be stored for up to 12 months under vacuum packaging with desiccant protection.
Lead-Free HASL (Hot Air Solder Leveling):
When no special storage adjustments are made, the shelf life is typically about 3 months.
OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative):
Has a shelf life of 3–6 months under vacuum packaging with desiccant protection. However, if stored improperly (e.g., without desiccant or with insufficient vacuum sealing), the shelf life may shorten to around 3 months.
Immersion Gold (Chemical Gold Plating):
Shelf life can reach 6–12 months, provided that sealed packaging and desiccant are used.
