Unlike traditional fiberglass epoxy resin substrates, aluminum substrates can rapidly conduct and dissipate the heat generated by electronic components during operation, thereby ensuring the stability and service life of electronic products.

According to the type of insulation layer and performance requirements, aluminum base board can be classified into several common types:

General-purpose aluminum substrate

The insulation layer is made of an epoxy glass fabric polymer, providing basic thermal conductivity and electrical insulation. It is relatively low in cost and is widely used in products such as standard LED lighting.

High thermal conductivity aluminum substrate

The insulation layer is filled with high-thermal-conductivity ceramic powders (such as aluminum oxide and boron nitride), significantly improving thermal conductivity. It is suitable for applications with strict heat dissipation requirements, including high-power LEDs, automotive electronics, and high-power power supplies.

High-frequency aluminum substrate

The insulation layer uses special resins (such as polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE), which not only provide thermal conductivity but also feature low dielectric constant and low dissipation factor. Circuit layer

Usually made of electrolytic copper foil, which is etched to form printed circuits for the assembly and interconnection of components.

 
 
 

Insulating layer

Located between the circuit layer and the metal base layer, it provides bonding, electrical insulation, and thermal conduction. The higher the thermal conductivity of the insulating layer, the more effectively heat can be dissipated during device operation, thereby reducing operating temperature, increasing power handling capacity, and extending service life.

 
 
 

Metal base

The shelf life of vacuum-packaged circuit boards varies depending on the surface treatment process, typically ranging from 3 to 12 months. The details are as follows:

Can be stored for up to 12 months under vacuum packaging with desiccant protection.

 
 

Lead-Free HASL (Hot Air Solder Leveling)

When no special storage adjustments are made, the shelf life is typically about 3 months.

 
 

OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative)

Has a shelf life of 3–6 months under vacuum packaging with desiccant protection. However, if stored improperly (e.g., without desiccant or with insufficient vacuum sealing), the shelf life may shorten to around 3 months.

 
 

Immersion Gold (Chemical Gold Plating)

Shelf life can reach 6–12 months, provided that sealed packaging and desiccant are used.
